POST POLL VIOLENCE REPORTED on 25/05/2008

                On 25.5.2008 at 1800 hours Sri.Ananth resident of Byadarahalli village, Nagamangala Taluk (Congress Party worker) lodged a complaint at Nagamangala Town P.S. stating that on 25.5.08 at 1400 hours, the accused persons Singarigowda and 4 others (JD-S) of Byadarahalli village formed themselves into an unlawful assembly, trespassed into the house of Ananth and dragged him out of  the house asking him as to why he cast his vote in favour of Congress Party, picked up quarrel and assaulted him with clubs, stones causing injuries.  In this connection a case in Nagamangala Town P.S. Cr.No.78/2008 u/s 143, 147, 448, 324 r/w 149 IPC has been registered and five accused were arrested and released on bail.

 

                On 25.5.2008 at 1830 hours Smt.Sowbhagya w/o Vijayakumar, Bellur Town in Nagamangala Taluk (JD-S worker) lodged a complaint at Bellur P.S. stating that on 25.5.2008 at 1500 hours, the accused persons Mohan and 9 others of Bellur Town (Congress party workers) formed themselves into an unlawful assembly in front of the house of the complainant and bursted crackers as a mark of victory of Congress candidate.  When questioned by the complainant, the accused persons picked up quarrel with her, assaulted her with hands, picked the chain by touching her body and threatened her.  In this connection a case in Bellur P.S. Cr.No.120/08 u/s 143, 323, 327, 354, 504, 506 r/w 149 IPC has been registered and being investigated.

 

                       On 25.5.2008 at 1930 hours Sri.Nagesha of Bellur Town in Nagamangala Taluk (Congress worker) lodged a complaint at Bellur P.S. stating that on 25.5.2008 at 1800 hours, the accused persons Suresh and 3 others (JD-S workers) of Bellur Town picked up quarrel with him near Bellur Police Station in connection with election issue and dragged him, picked his mobile phone, etc.  In this connection a case in Bellur P.S. Cr.No.121/08 u/s 143, 323, 327 r/w 149 IPC has been registered and being investigated.

 

                    On 25.5.2008 at 2000 hours Sri.B.R. Mohan of Bellur Town (Congress worker) lodged a complaint at Bellur P.S. stating that the same day at about 1830 hours, the accused persons Surendra of Chakenahalli village and 4 others of Thavaregere and Kenchanahalli villages in Nangamangala Taluk (JD-S workers) formed themselves into unlawful assembly, picked up quarrel with Mohan near Bellur P.S. in connection with election issue and dragged him, picked his neck chain and threatened him with dire consequences.  In this connection, a case in Bellur P.S. Cr.No.122/08 u/s 143, 323, 327, 506 r/w 149 IPC has been registered and being investigated.
